The 56-foot tugboat Huntress was deployed at the Sandy Hook Reef site in memory of Hudson River Fishermen's Association past member Darren Cardinal. Sponsorship for this project is provided by the association and The Sportfishing Fund. The vessel now rests in 58 feet of water, with a vertical relief of 25 feet.

The story behind VINIK HUNTRESS is that she was ON 269963, DEBORAH, built by Wiley Mfg. Co. in 1955. She became PETERSEN GIRLS, then HUNTRESS. Sold to Vinik, she was renamed DOROTHY ELIZABETH II on paper, but it appears the name was never changed on the vessel.
