The Chauncey Jerome Jr was a packet ship of the Blue Ball Line. The wreck lies within the Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park in Long Branch NJ. It is a registered and protected historic place. Spearfishing and artifact removal are forbidden.

This ship carries a special history for my family. In 1852 the Chauncey Jerome Jr. carried my great, great grandfather, Anton Buchmeier, and 3 family members from Malsch, in Baden, Prussia, to the United States. They landed safely and settled in Whitney County Indiana where Anton took up his occupation as a tailor.
