Canal Boats

These vessels all gave long service on New York State's extensive inland canal system. I expect to be adding to this list, as there are many more, and they are very old. At most, one or two can and should be preserved, but for the rest, reefing is a better fate than being cut up into scrap and melted-down in China.

Great White Shark

Great Whites are not terribly fond of cold water and are more likely to be found further south, although they do appear regularly in Long Island Sound. They are typically pelagic but have been known to come close inshore and even into creeks and rivers on rare occasions.
