This is a Sad Thing

This is the trailer for a movie that came out several years ago, but I just found out about it. Old hands will recognize the boat - it is the famous SEEKER. From IMDB:

Four best friends from boarding school decide to attend a massive blow-out High School graduation party on Block Island. After missing the last ferry they decide to hire a fishing boat to take them on what should be a simple journey. What they get is the trip from hell, with a captain and his first mate that have no intention of taking the kids to Block Island, putting them into a fight to survive and to simply make it back to land ... any land.

The film DEAD SOUND is a cheap exploitation flick that is not worth watching. The boat does not look in great shape either - it is gutted and filled with garbage. On the plus side, the boat was still in the water and running, which is better than rotting away on blocks.

Here's something else I found: Captain Steve Bielenda of the Wahoo holding the sign that was left on the Andrea Doria by the SEEKER. The video below explains ...
I doubt this kept the Wahoo divers out for very long.
In fact, looking at Gary Gentile's goody bag, I don't think it kept them out at all.

Chimney Swift

Chaetura pelagica

Size: 5"-6"

Habitat: anywhere

Notes:
These small songbirds get mentioned here only because they are so common around Dutch Springs. Look for their tail-less dark profiles and irregular, bat-like flight as they catch insects over the water. They probably nest in the abandoned factory nearby. Fork-tailed Barn Swallows are also common.
