This website is designed with an extremely precise layout which makes the most of your computer screen for ease of reading, navigation, and printing. The result is more like an integrated multimedia CD-ROM presentation than the usual loose collection of disjoint web pages. However, in order to achieve this effect, certain assumptions about the viewing environment must be made, resulting in the following system requirements:
These requirements are well within the capabilities of any reasonably modern PC. If your computer can't do this, then you need a new one.
This site is designed for modern web browsers. The latest version of either Microsoft or Mozilla web browser is required, and antique web browsers are actively rejected.
Finally, a fast broadband connection is a big plus. I do not believe in breaking up topics into snippets scattered across multitudes of separate pages. Each page covers a complete subject, and is whatever size it needs to be, regardless of the resulting download time. While most pages work tolerably well with a slow connection, I am no longer specifically considering this in the design. Videos and some other content are strictly for broadband access.
